Hi Year 5! It’s the last week of the school year. How did that happen? And what a year it has been! A year ago, when you were spending transition time with us, no one could have dreamed that 2019/2020 would turn out in the way it has. It has been a very strange...

ACKLAM WHIN PRIMARY SCHOOL

AWPFA

Acklam Whin Parents and Friends Association Needs You!

AWPFA is a group of parents, teachers and friends of Acklam Whin Primary School who organise events to raise funds to spend on fun activities and keepsakes for the children.

We meet up usually once every term to discuss ideas, plan events and decide how best to spend the funds raised so that all the children across the year groups benefit. Fund raising activities in the past have included school discos, raffles and the annual toy fair, and the funds raised have been spent on a whole range of things from book bags for all children starting in reception to autograph books for year 6 children when they leave. Science workshops and exotic animal encounters have also proved a real hit with the children over the last few years.

Anyone who shops online can help raise funds for AWPFA with easyfundraising.org.uk. Every time you spend money with participating retailers they will make a small donation on your behalf. It doesn’t cost you any money! Over the last school year we have raised over £150 with just 9 members.

Help us raise more by registering as a member.

Help Wanted!

We desperately need some new volunteers to keep this going. Without the support of parents, grandparents or other friends of Acklam Whin we won’t be able to continue. If you can spare any time at all we would love to hear from you. Any contribution big or small is welcomed. If you can spare some time to help with the sweet shop at the discos, the stalls at the toy fairs or even commit more of your time to attend our meetings and bring in some new ideas, then please get in touch with Mrs Ingledew our Chair on 01642 813938

Our free communication app allows us to provide parents with instant access to our important messages and up to date school information. Please contact the school office if you have not received your personal invite.
