Hello and Welcome back

Today marks the start of a brand new half term and a brand new topic for Year 4. Over the next few weeks we will be starting Raiders and Traders which looks at two particular groups in British History; The Anglo-Saxons and The Vikings. With that in mind, we have set you some great tasks to kick off the topic.

In English, we will be starting journalistic writing with a view to writing your own newspaper reports. Initially this is based around traditional tales. In Maths, we are reviewing work on multiplication and division. We have covered this previously so hopefully this will jog your memories and by coming at it from a different angle, deepen your knowledge further.

Reading focuses on a book by Michael Morpurgo, who is an author we particularly love in Year 4. It is an adaptation of a legend called Beowulf. For History, we would like you to start with a bit of research about the Vikings and in Art we are looking at Anglo-Saxon clothing. In RE, we are starting a new big question, life as a journey. And we have our computing lesson from Mr. Cottingham.

This week, we start our wellness Wednesday with some activities to enjoy away from your screens and our weekly music lesson link has been updated too.

Don’t forget that your Zooms this week are hosted by some very special guests and as ever we are here to answer any questions, queries or deal with any issues. Get yourselves of EdShed for spellings and Times Table Rockstars and enjoy your week.

See you soon

Your Year 4 Team
