School Meals
Middlesbrough Council provides the catering at Acklam Whin, and our school kitchen has been awarded 5 stars for health and hygiene.
- A daily two-course school meal is provided at lunchtime for pupils who wish to take it and the children may choose from a wide selection of hot and cold dishes. The salad bar is extremely popular with the children.
- School meals are £2.15 per day which should be paid via School Money.
- Children must stay for all 5 days of the week except in exceptional circumstances. A credit is applied to their Parent Pay account for children who miss one or more days owing to absence.
The school needs a week’s notice for a change of lunch arrangements to take effect.
Children who do not take a school meal can bring packed lunches and we encourage children and parents to ensure these have a healthy balance to them. No glass flasks, cans, or fizzy drinks, please.
There is also a salad bar available every day with a selection of cold meats, Quiche, Salmon, Samosas, 12 salad bowls, 2 potato choices, and a choice of desserts.
